Our Story
Adventure Air Arizona is a veteran owned (USAF retired) gyroplane discovery flight center. We specialize in introducing students to gyroplane flying and add-on sport pilot gyroplane ratings for current, fixed wing pilots.
Located at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa (KFFZ), we offer an unforgettable way to explore the Grand Canyon State—from a bird’s-eye view.
Nestled in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, we offer scenic introductory flights that combine the excitement of gyroplane flying with Arizona’s stunning landscapes. Whether you're chasing adrenaline or simply looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, our FAA-certified instructors ensure every flight is safe, smooth, and absolutely unforgettable.

Adventure Air Arizona is owned and operated by Dan C., a passionate pilot and certified flight instructor with 30+ years experience as a flight instructor and 40+ years as a licensed pilot. FAQ'S
WHAT IS IT?
It is a gyroplane. Some say gyrocopter, autogyro or just gyro. To the FAA, it's a gyroplane. A 1923 invention from Spain.
IS IT SAFE TO FLY?
YES! Gyroplanes do not stall and therefore do not spin. In the unlikely event of an engine failure, one can easily glide down and make a gentle landing under full control. It is smooth and stable in windy and turbulent conditions.
IS A GYRO DIFFICULT TO FLY?
No, but you can receive professional training from a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) at Adventure Air Arizona. Send us a message to learn more!
DO I NEED A LICENSE TO FLY A GYRO?
Yes, at minimum one will need a Sport Pilot-Gyroplane license.
CAN I ADD-ON TO MY EXISTING LICENSE?
Yes! The amount of time varies for each person to transition to a gyro. Average time is 10-15 hours.

Gyroplane Lesson Snapshot:
In your 60 minute lesson, you will review airport/aircraft safety (waiver required) and an introduction to your gyro. The flight length is about 35 minutes over the East Valley (or other areas upon earlier request) and then a debrief and signing of your own logbook to keep!
